About SafeReel

SafeReel is a content-moderation API built for one job: detecting pornographic (NSFW) content in video and images, accurately and cheaply, at production scale. It is designed for platforms that host user-generated media — video platforms, dating and community apps, marketplaces, storage pipelines, and media archives — and need a verdict they can automate against without building or operating their own classifiers.

Why we exist

General-purpose moderation tools treat video as an afterthought: they cap file sizes at a few hundred megabytes, sample a handful of frames, or price a two-hour movie at several euros per scan. SafeReel is video-first. You submit a public URL — we fetch the file, analyze the full duration (including fragmented MP4s and corrupt indexes), and return a single verdict. There is no file-size limit, and every video bills at most 20 minutes regardless of length, so a 90-minute movie costs €0.40.

How we run it

Company

SafeReel is an independent, operator-run service. Infrastructure runs in the EU (Hetzner, Germany) with inference on GPU hardware we operate; your media is never sent to third-party AI providers. Subprocessors and data practices are listed on the trust page, our security posture and disclosure policy on the security page, and live service health on the status page.
